The grant is open with no deadline this year, it pays for your website, and most expat business owners on the coast have never claimed it. Here is how it works.
If you run a business in Spain as an autónomo or a small company, the state will pay for a chunk of your digitalisation. The programme is called Kit Digital, it is funded by Next Generation EU, and the reason so few expat-run businesses use it is that the paperwork is entirely in Spanish.
What changed for 2026
The rules were updated by Orden TDF/39/2026, published in the BOE on 26 January 2026. The important change: there is no fixed deadline this year. Applications stay open until the funds run out, rather than closing on a set date. That removes the usual scramble, and it also removes the urgency that used to make people act.
The one rule that catches people out
You cannot spend the voucher wherever you like. It only works with an Agente Digitalizador Adherido — a supplier registered in the official catalogue. If your web developer is not in that catalogue, you cannot use the grant with them, no matter how good they are.
Check before you sign anything. It is the single most common reason a claim falls apart.
What it covers
The voucher buys named solution categories, not “a website” in the abstract. The relevant ones for most businesses here:
- Sitio web y presencia en internet — a site plus basic SEO
- Comercio electrónico — an online shop
- Gestión de redes sociales
- Ciberseguridad
- Gestión de clientes — CRM
A redesign because you dislike the current colours is not a covered solution. A first website, a shop, or a CRM implementation is.

Segment III covers businesses with 0 to fewer than 3 employees — which is most autónomos on this coast — and it is open. Larger segments exist with larger amounts.
What you need before applying
A digital certificate or Cl@ve to identify yourself, your business up to date with Hacienda and Seguridad Social, and the test de diagnóstico digital completed on the Acelera Pyme portal. That last one takes about fifteen minutes and people routinely skip it and then wonder why the application stalls.
Worth doing?
For a business that needs a first proper website or a shop, yes — it is money that exists specifically for this and expires unclaimed. For a business that already has a working site and wants it prettier, the paperwork will cost you more in time than the grant returns.
